How to enable Bluetooth tethering in iPhone

Bluetooth tethering in iPhone is used to enable Internet access, and pair the service with your Computer, Laptop without having to find a WiFi hot spot in your area. You will need to contact your service provider and sign up for Bluetooth tethering before you can use the service on your iPhone.

Following are the step by step Instructions.

Step 1:
Turn on your Apple iPhone device and connect the device to your PC. Use the data cable that came with your iPhone and plug it into an USB port.

Step 2:
Configure the “Bluetooth tethering” on your iPhone device. Go to the “Settings” screen and click on the “General” button and then click on the “Network” button. Select the option “Internet Tethering” and switch it “On.” click on the “Bluetooth” option to enable the feature. Check the status bar to make confirm that the “Bluetooth” icon is displayed.

Step 3:
Set up configuration of your laptop and computer to establish a Bluetooth connection with your iPhone device. Click on the Bluetooth icon on your desktop. Or tap the “Start” button on the task bar and choose “Control Panel” Find the Bluetooth icon and click on it. When the Bluetooth dialog box appears on your display screen click on the “Options” menu. Mark the check box next to the options “Allowed Bluetooth devices to find this computer” and “Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer”.

Step 4:
Tap the “Devices” option and press the “Add” button. The “Add Bluetooth Device” function will start  searching for a Bluetooth device that is within its range. In a few seconds, you will see the name of your iPhone device displayed on the screen. Click on it and check the device for a pop up message.

Step 5:
Pair your iPhone device with your laptop and computer. Enter the pass key number that is shown on your laptop computer and your iPhone device. The pass key number helps to confirm that your laptop and iPhone device are paired with each other. If you are having difficulty in pairing both devices and another Bluetooth device is trying to pair with your laptop, move to different location to help resolve the problem.

Step 6:
You can Transfer a file from your laptop or computer to your iPhone. Locate the file path and folder for the file that you want to share. Right click on the file name and select the “Send to Bluetooth” menu.

Step 7:
Turn off Bluetooth feature on your iPhone and laptop computer. Then unplug your iPhone cable from your laptop.

How to take backup of contacts in iPhone

Different methods are used to take back up the contacts in an Apple iPhone. For that, you can use iTunes software to perform this task and export all of your iPhone contact directory information as a CSV file in Windows 8. Microsoft Excel is used to open the file on your personal computer. You can also use USB thumb drive to save your iPhone contacts and and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

Step 1:

Install iTunes software on your computer if you do not already have the software on your computer. Go to apples site and click the ‘Download Now‘ button on the web page. Click on the iTunes app icon to start the installation process. Look for the iTunes icon on your desktop after all of the files have been installed on your PC.

Step 2:

Connect your Apple iPhone device to your computer with the USB cable that came with it. Locate an USB port on your computer and plug the iPhone data cable into it.

Step 3:

Select the option ‘Devices’ on the left side of the iTunes pane. You will see the name of your Apple iPhone device. Right click on it and select option ‘Back Up’.

Step 4:

Click the ‘Info’ option when iTunes has finished with the back up process. Mark the check box located after ‘Sync Contacts’ and press the drop down menu arrow. Select ‘Windows Contacts’ from the menu list. After that Click on the ‘Apply’ button.

Step 5:

Open the run command on your machine for that Press the “Windows” + “R” keys on your keyboard and type the letters ‘wab’ in the Run command. Press the ‘OK’ button.

Step 6:

Click on the double arrows and select ‘Export’ from the drop down menu list. A pop up will appear on your screen. Under ‘Export Windows Contacts’ select the option “CSV (Comma Separated Values)” and click on the ‘Export’ button.

Step 7:

Press the “Browse” button and browse the location where you want to save your Apple iPhone device contacts as a CSV file. Click on the “Next” button.

Step 8:

Mark the check boxes of all of the iPhone contacts fields that you want to export. Click on the “Finish” button when you’re finish. In a few moments you will receive a messages that says ‘Your contacts have been exported in the new format you chose to the location you selected.’ Click on the “OK” button.
